Greetings to all 2010 Walter Jones Golf Classic participants!
We are looking forward to seeing you at the ASHP Research and Education Foundation’s 15th Annual Walter Jones Golf Classic on Sunday, September 19, 2010! The tournament will be held at PB Dye Golf Club in Ijamsville, Maryland. Below is some information you will need prior to the tournament date.
Golf Tournament Hotline
In the event of bad weather, you may call the hotline for updates beginning Friday, September 17th at noon, through Sunday, September 19th at 9 a.m. at 301-657-3000, ext. 1781. Getting to PB Dye Golf Club
If you are driving, please click here for directions to the golf tournament.
For those individuals who are flying into the area and staying at the Bethesda Hyatt, transportation is being provided by members of the golf tournament planning committee. They will depart starting at 10 a.m. to take you to the golf course. You will be assigned a particular driver (you can work out a specific departure time with him or her). They will also take you back to the Hyatt at approximately 6:30 p.m. following the dinner and awards ceremony.
If you indicated that you need transportation, you will receive an e-mail from XXX by close of business on September 16th with details about time, location and driver. If you need transportation but did not indicate this on your registration form, please contact Bethany Coulter at 301-664-8795 as soon as possible.
Arrival Time
Please arrive at the course no later than 11:15 p.m., 45 minutes before the shotgun start.
Golf Classic Schedule – Sunday, September 19, 2010
10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Registration, sale of mulligan and raffle tickets, driving range practice, and lunch service.
12 p.m. Tournament begins.
5 to 6:30 p.m. Awards Ceremony and Dinner
PB Dye Golf Club Policies and Procedures
The PB Dye Golf Club's policies and procedures relate to all participants in the ASHP Foundation’s Walter Jones Golf Classic, and will be posted prior to the tournament date.
Registration
When you arrive at the course, please stop at the registration table first. When you check in, your golf bag will be taken to your cart and you’ll be given a cart number and a player gift bag.
Your registration fee provides you with the following:
• Greens fees
• A player gift bag
• Golf cart
• Nine contest holes
• Driving range and range balls
• Putting green
• Complimentary beverage cart refreshments (beer, soft drinks, sports drinks, and bottled water)
• Box lunch, buffet dinner and awards ceremony
Course Guide
A course guide will be given to you at registration.
Please note that porta-potties are available near the Hole #4 fairway and Hole #12 tee.
Contest and Game Tickets
The following are available for purchase prior to the start of the tournament:
• Raffle: $5 each or 3 for $10; you may purchase as many as you like. Prize: a pair of round-trip airline tickets on Delta Airlines. Tickets will be sold only at the golf tournament prior to the start of play. There will be only one winner. All proceeds will benefit the Walter Jones Fund.
• 50/50: $10 each; you may purchase as many as you like. Prize: one-half the total amount collected. The other half will be donated to the Walter Jones Fund. Tickets will be sold only at the golf tournament prior to the start of play. There will be only one winner.
• Mulligans: $10 each; limit of 4 mulligans per team.
• String It Out: $5/foot; limit of 5 feet of string per team. The string can be used at any time during the round by a player who wants to improve his lie. String must be used in one-foot increments (no cutting).
• Get-It-on-the-Green: $10/try; limit one per person. This contest is held at Hole #14, where you may pay in cash to attempt to get your ball on the green in one shot. No mulligans. Prize is a box of golf balls.

• Hole #2: Bonus Hole in One
• Hole #7: Longest Drive (Men’s)
• Hole #8: Hole in One ($25,000 cash prize)
• Hole #11: Closest to the Pin & Bonus Hole in One
• Hole #12: Longest Putt
• Hole #14: Bonus Hole in One & Get It on the Green contest
• Hole #17: Longest Drive (Women’s)
