Jennifer Tryon

Jennifer E. Tryon, Pharm.D., M.S., is the Associate Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, a 1,000-bed academic medical center, in North Carolina.

Until March 2016, she served as Chief Pharmacy Officer and Executive Director of Pharmacy at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was responsible for all inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy services. She also served as the Director of Graduate Pharmacy Education with responsibilities for 23 residents in seven residency programs. Prior to her time in Chicago, she was the Assistant Director of Inpatient Pharmacy at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington. At PeaceHealth she over saw the inpatient operations, both clinical and distribution areas, pharmacy ambulatory services, the infusion pharmacy services, and the hospice program. She also served as the Residency Program Director and preceptor. She was Operations Manager and Assistant Director at the Oregon Health and Sciences University prior to PeaceHealth. Jennifer completed her pharmacy degree at the University of Iowa and her MS at the University of Wisconsin. She completed a two-year Administrative Residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals.

She has been active in ASHP serving on and Chairing the Pharmacy Management Council. Jennifer has also been on the Nominations Committee, several Sections of Pharmacy Practice Managers Advisory Groups and the Search and Screen Committee for the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer. Jen is currently a Director at Large on the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers Executive Committee and Treasurer of the Illinois Council of Health System Pharmacists. She served as the President of the Oregon Society of Health-System Pharmacists in 2011-12 and represented Oregon as a delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates for three years. Jennifer is a co-editor for the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Field Guide Cases and Advice for Everyday Situations.
