At the conclusion of the Independent Study the participant will:

At the conclusion of the Web Presentation the participant will:

1. Identify how information systems are interfaced and/or integrated across a health system.
2. Explain how information systems & technologies are linked to improving patient safety.
3. Describe the importance of linking information technology strategic planning to the mission, vision, & goals of the organization.

At the conclusion of the Case Study/Teleconference the participant will:

1. Describe how information systems are interfaced and/or integrated across a health system, and how such linkages impact efficient & effective pharmacy operations and patient safety.
2. Discuss how information systems & technologies facilitate appropriate and safe medication use, and how information systems & technologies are linked to improving patient safety and reducing medication errors.
3. Explain your organization’s IT strategy and the implications for improving patient safety, reducing medication errors, and/or improving pharmacy operational efficiency and/or effectiveness.
