Program Goal
The goal of The Pharmacy Leadership Institute is to utilize relevant program curriculum, high-quality instruction, and peer interaction to broaden business skills, managerial versatility, and the extraordinary leadership demanded of today's Directors of Health-System Pharmacy. Key to this objective is the development of a new way of thinking and a new set of behaviors.

Who Should Attend?
By targeting Directors of Health-System Pharmacy with management experience, The Pharmacy Leadership Institute seeks to bring together bright, highly motivated individuals with considerable professional experience. The sharing of expertise, complementary skill sets, and work and life perspectives, ensures effectiveness and impact on each participant. Furthermore, peer interaction and networking will help carry the program benefits back into the workplace.

Pharmacy Directors will benefit by sharing insights into the following questions:

• How can I become a more empowered leader for my success and the success of my employees?
• How can I lead better by developing and using influence and negotiation more successfully?
• How can I leverage the role of my department more strategically in the organization?
• How can I improve my management and leadership skills to meet the needs of a changing workplace?
• How can I foster creative thinking and innovation within the current framework of my organization?
• How do I continue to challenge and motivate my employees?

Expenses associated with course material, tuition, lodging, and most meals will be covered for attendees. Travel expenses to attend the Institute will not be covered.

The Pharmacy Leadership Institute utilizes an integrated curriculum centered around the issues of today and the skills needed for tomorrow. It is a rigorous, demanding program that seeks through the convergence of classroom and real-world situations to:

• Develop visionary leaders who can inspire people to make significant contributions and move their organization forward.
• Promote innovative, out-of-the-box thinking.
• Energize accomplished managers with new insights, information, and strategies to tackle the challenges of an increasingly complex environment.

The Executive Leadership Center within Boston University's School of Management has been selected to host The Pharmacy Leadership Institute because of its high-caliber faculty and commitment to furthering the education of professionals. It offers a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest technological and classroom advancements. The prestigious faculty of Boston University offers program participants a perspective that, while applicable to the profession of pharmacy, reaches far beyond pharmacy practice.

Cost of The Institute
Expenses associated with course material, tuition, lodging, and most meals will be covered for attendees. Travel expenses to attend the Institute will not be covered.

Continuing Education Credit 

   The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education.  ASHP determines the number of contact hours for each session.  Each of the numbered programs qualifies for 1 contact hour (0.1 CEU) of continuing education (except where indicated).  Participants may earn up to 31 contact hours (3.1 CEUs).  ASHP will mail the CE statement 4-6 weeks after the completion of the Pharmacy Leadership Institute.
