2007-2008 Oncology Traineeship
“The ASHP Foundation Oncology Traineeship experience has enabled me to provide oncology patients in our healthcare system a higher quality of pharmacy services from pre-admission to post-discharge. The breadth and depth of knowledge obtained from the total experience has provided me with tools that can be applied in virtually all areas of oncology pharmacy practice, from hazardous drug handling and waste to clinical interventions and implementing guidelines which include cost-containment processes. I have developed and improved existing orders sets and procedures using guidelines and standards provided by the ASHP traineeship. As a result of these efforts, relationships with physicians, nurses, social workers and other healthcare providers have been strengthened, and we function more cohesively to optimize patient care.”
