Baptist Memorial Hospital Receives Award for Excellence in Medication Safety
The ASHP Foundation and the Cardinal Health Foundation yesterday honored Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., with the 2018 Award for Excellence in Medication Safety for its work in reducing the use of opioids for pain management in the emergency department. The Memphis, TN, hospital achieved a 70+-percent reduction in opioid use per 100 patient visits, simultaneously increasing patient satisfaction.

The ASHP Research and Education Foundation Announces 2018 Pharmacy Residency Excellence Awards.
This award program, sponsored by Amgen, Inc., recognizes pharmacy residency preceptors and programs that have demonstrated innovation in training pharmacy residents and serve as models for other residency programs and preceptors. The Program Award will be given to the Methodist University Hospital Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program for its outstanding program.

ASHP Foundation Announces the 2018 Literature Awards
Awardees will be recognized at ASHP Midyear The ASHP Foundation has selected the recipients of the 2018 Literature Awards. The Literature Awards honors pharmacists who have made significant contributions to biomedical literature and have published high-impact articles in primary peer reviewed journals.

ASHP Foundation Names Roger W. Anderson to Board of Directors
The ASHP Foundation has appointed Roger W. Anderson, Dr.P.H., FASHP, to the ASHP Foundation Board of Directors as a Director at Large. Dr. Anderson has been a longtime donor and supporter of the ASHP Foundation, as well as an active member and leader of ASHP.  In addition to being a past president (1987–88) and board member (1983 –1986) of ASHP, he has served as president of several state affiliate organizations and advisory boards.

ASHP Foundation Celebrates 50 Years of Advancing Medication Safety and Pharmacy Leadership
The ASHP Foundation, the philanthropic arm of ASHP is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018. Created in 1968, the ASHP Foundation strives to improve the health and well-being of patients through appropriate, safe, and effective medication. Through its many programs–including awards, clinical traineeships, leadership training, research grants, and practice resources–the Foundation supports pharmacists at every stage of their careers, from student to experienced clinician and leader.

ASHP Foundation Announces 2016-2017 Pharmacy Practice Advancement Demonstration Grantees
The ASHP Foundation awarded funding to two pharmacist investigators through the 2016-2017 Pharmacy Practice Advancement Demonstration Grant program. This program supports demonstration projects related to practice advancement and that encourage increased pharmacist leadership on patient care teams to advance patient care and outcomes.

The ASHP Foundation announced today that funding has been awarded to six pharmacy resident researchers through the 2018 Pharmacy Resident Practice-Based Research Grant Program. This program supports quality research that advances pharmacy practice and is conducted by pharmacy residents partnered with senior investigators.

ASHP Foundation Announces 2017-2018 Master’s Resident Practice-Based Research Grant Recipients
The ASHP Foundation announced today that funding has been awarded to three pharmacy resident researchers through the 2017-2018 Master’s Resident Practice-Based Research Grant program. This program supports quality research to advance pharmacy practice that is conducted by residents in ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency programs that combine the completion of a residency and a master’s degree.
