The ASHP Foundation is pleased to announce a collaborative initiated by the ASHP Board of Directors to mark the formal retirement at the end of December 2009 of one of pharmacy’s distinguished leaders, William A. Zellmer. Immediately prior to the Midyear Clinical Meeting where our colleague was feted, ASHP Board Members offered gifts to the Foundation to launch the William A. Zellmer Lecture Fund: Where Practice Meets Policy.
The fund will be used to invite a distinguished speaker to address the practice leaders of ASHP during ASHP Policy Week on an annual basis. Bill’s career with ASHP spans an extraordinary 39 years, during which time he distinguished himself as a brilliant thinker and writer. His leadership and influence have helped shape the pharmacy profession in the U.S. and abroad. Through the new lecture fund, ASHP leaders from around the country will continue to be inspired and confronted by leading thinkers regarding concerns facing pharmacy and health care.
We encourage ongoing contributions, especially from those who will enjoy and be stimulated first hand by these thought-provoking speakers.
