Program Focus

  • The Master’s Resident Practice-Based Research grant supports practice-based research conducted by pharmacy residents in ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency programs that combine the completion of a residency and a master’s degree. 
  • The primary goal of the program is to support quality research to advance pharmacy practice. 
  • A secondary goal is to develop new investigators’ research skills while fostering the development of mentoring relationships with more experienced senior investigators.  
  • Applicants should utilize the recommendations from the PPMI Summit and the Ambulatory Care Conference & Summit in the PAI Resource Center to identify relevant topics for this grant program. Applicants' research should support the ASHP/ASHP Foundation Practice Advancement Initiative (PAI) and Ambulatory PAI. Visit the PAI website to identify relevant topics for this grant program.
  • Not Eligible: Clinical studies, including pharmacokinetics research and medication effectiveness studies, are not supported through this program.
Funding Information
Up to four (4) $5,000 grants will be awarded. Grants will be awarded to pharmacy residents to provide funding for specific practice-based research related to advancing pharmacy practice and are not intended for long-term support of research programs. Facilities and administrative cost rates that do not exceed 8 percent of the total requested budget are allowed.
