Thomas S. Thielke
Thomas S. Thielke, M.S., FASHP, has served as vice president of Professional and Support Services at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (UWHC) in Madison, where he also served as director of pharmacy for nearly 20 years. He was also a clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy.
Mr. Thielke served two terms as Vice President of the Hospital Pharmacists Section of the Federation of International Pharmacists (FIP), as well as its President in 1998-2002. He is currently immediate past President of FIP’s Hospital Pharmacy Section.
He is an active member of pharmacy associations and is a past president of ASHP as well as a former chair of the ASHP House of Delegates. He was an active member and is a past president of the Wisconsin Society of Health-System Pharmacists and founder and a former chairman of the Board of the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
Thielke is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Harvey A.K. Whitney Lecture Award, the Donald E. Francke Medal, the McKesson Medication Safety Leadership Award, the Winston J. Durant Lecture Award, the Wisconsin Pharmacists Association Innovative Practitioner of the Year and a two-time recipient of Wisconsin’s Hospital Pharmacist of the Year. He has made more than 100 presentations at various state, national, and international pharmacy conferences and is author of numerous professional publications.
