University of Colorado Visit

On October 11-12, 2012, David Zilz visited University of Colorado in Aurora.


  The visit started with a group discussion about the future of residency training with residency program directors from seven different residency programs.
  The residency program directors who attended the discussion were Norm Kwong (PGY1, Presbyterian St. Luke’s), Tara Vlasimsky (PGY1, Denver Health), Charlie Sintek (PGY1, VA Denver), Gina Harper (PGY1, Poudre Valley Health), Holly Phillips (PGY1, University of Colorado Health), Rachana Patel (Kaiser Permanente) and Paula Moyers (PGY1, Memorial Health).
   
  Zilz and Holly Phillips, the PGY1 residency program director for the University of Colorado Health, discuss residency training challenges and innovations.

  Zilz later had lunch with PGY1 Residency Program Director Norm Kwong and residents Demi McCashland (PGY1 resident, University of Colorado Hospital), Lauren Boyle (PGY1 resident, University of Colorado Hospital), Stephanie Kuhn (PGY2 resident, University of Colorado Hospital) and Laura Baumgartner (PGY1 resident, University of Colorado Hospital).
  Rachana Patel, Loren Davies and Sumit Patel enjoyed meeting Zilz and having the opportunity to talk to him about key issues.
