The Harvey A.K. Whitney Lecture Award is one of the most prestigious awards within the profession of health-system pharmacy. Each spring, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) announces the recipient of the award and honors him or her at the Harvey A. K. Whitney Lecture Award Reception and Dinner, which is held during the ASHP Summer Meeting. All living Whitney awardees are also recognized at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting's Whitney Awardees Reception (See video footage from the most recent reception!)

In 2008, the ASHP Foundation made the Whitney Award Lectures available on the Web. The Whitney Award Lectures website provides access to 61 lectures that can be browsed by title, author, or publication date. Each lecture has a web page with the awardee’s biography, photograph, the lecture and a PDF version that can be downloaded. The site is searchable by keyword as well. In addition, the Foundation is developing a video collection that contains brief video clips of past awardees.
