Why was the David A. Zilz Leaders for the Future Fund established?
The ASHP Research and Education Foundation has established a new fund, the David A. Zilz Leaders for the Future Fund, to pay tribute to one of the best-known figures in all of pharmacy and to focus on paving the way for future generations of pharmacy leaders. 

“DZ,” to those who know and love him, has touched the lives of countless pharmacists, from young pharmacists just starting their careers, to those seasoned with legacy experiences, and to those who have benefited indirectly through Dave’s influence on other leaders. This national effort is a direct reflection on the essence of Dave as a leader and mentor in our profession.

What will the fund support?
Thanks to the participation of David Zilz himself, this initiative is taking shape in the form of program content critical to pharmacy leadership opportunities and qualities. We're very excited about the potential of coupling Dave’s vision and active participation with the Foundation’s leadership programs.

A significant gap in health-system leadership within a decade is possible if proactive and aggressive steps are not taken. The Center is now poised to expand its reach, and DZ has given us the opportunity to make it happen. 

Leadership skills must continually be refreshed and sustained, and while active solicitations for this campaign officially ended in December 2010, an ongoing investment by you is critical to sustain this initiative. You are invited to stay connected with the Center and continue our shared commitment to future pharmacy leaders.
