Pharmacist Nutrition Support Patient-Care Impact Program
Supported by an educational grant from Baxter and offered in collaboration with ASHP’s Section on Clinical Specialists and Scientists, the Pharmacist Nutrition Support Patient-Care Impact Program distance program is designed to develop leaders with knowledge and skills to optimize safe and effective nutritional support needs of patients. The program supports cohorts of up to ten pharmacy residents in postgraduate year 2 (PGY2) programs. While all PGY2 programs are eligible, priority consideration will be given to applicants from the following PGY2 program types: Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Oncology.
The person who applies to the program is a residency program director or a preceptor, who will then select a resident to participate in the program and will serve as the program participant’s sponsor.
Participants will complete the ASHP/ASPEN Nutrition Support Certificate, develop and execute an individual project determined in consultation with their program sponsor, and participate in virtual meetings with their cohort. In addition, a recognized pharmacy leader in nutrition support will engage the cohort to enhance the application of certificate content through virtual meetings and provide feedback to participants on their projects.
We are no longer accepting applications for this program.
