Thirty-two Pharmacy Students Receive ASHP Midyear Travel Awards from ASHP Foundation, #PharmGradWishlist
The ASHP Foundation, in collaboration with #PharmGradWishlist, is pleased to announce the 2024 ASHP Midyear Travel Award recipients.
Thirty-two PharmD candidates received $500 stipends and full meeting registrations to offset expenses associated with attending the 2024 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition in New Orleans, Louisiana. The award package also includes a one-year ASHP membership to support continued professional engagement and development.
All recipients are actively involved in leadership and community service and have clearly articulated interest in post-graduate training. Now in its second year, the ASHP Midyear Travel Award program has been adapted from the pre-existing #PharmGradWishlist Midyear Scholarship Program. This initiative aims to enhance the diversity and inclusivity of the pharmacy workforce by supporting pharmacy students seeking post-graduate training, residencies, or fellowships. All awardees identify as part of racially and/or ethnically minoritized groups.
“I am honored to receive this award, and I want to thank the ASHP Foundation and #PharmGradWishlist for this generous opportunity,” said awardee Hajer Abuzir from Midwestern University- Glendale. “This will play a significant role in my professional development, and I look forward to one day paying it forward to others. Thank you again for this exciting opportunity; it means more than you know!”
The ASHP Midyear Travel Awards Program is supported by donations from Marvin Samson and individual donors.
