ASHP Foundation Names Roger Anderson to Board of Directors

The ASHP Foundation appointed Roger W. Anderson, Dr.P.H., FASHP, to the ASHP Foundation Board of Directors as a Director at Large.

Dr. Anderson has been a longtime donor and supporter of the ASHP Foundation, as well as an active member and leader of ASHP.  In addition to being a past president (1987–88) and board member (1983 –1986) of ASHP, he has served as president of several state affiliate organizations and advisory boards. Dr. Anderson has received multiple awards, including The Ohio State University’s Clifton J. Latiolais Award (1988) and ASHP’s Harvey A.K. Whitney Award (1992). 

Dr. Anderson is the former Vice President and Head of the Division of Pharmacy at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Following his retirement, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Pharmacist at Medco Health Solutions in Franklin, N.J., and Chief Pharmacy Officer for U.S. Oncology in The Woodlands, Texas.

Dr. Anderson has authored more than 60 publications in the field of health-system pharmacy. His research interests include the safe handling of antineoplastic agents, drug delivery technology, and health-system pharmacy leadership.  He earned a B.S. in Pharmacy from Ferris State University, an M.S. in Hospital Pharmacy from The Ohio State University, and a Doctorate of Public Health from The University of Texas School of Public Health. Dr. Anderson completed an accredited residency in hospital pharmacy at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
