ASHP Foundation Announces New Pharmacy Student Scholarship Supporting Diversity in the Pharmacy Workforce
The ASHP Foundation is pleased to announce a new scholarship program to support Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) pharmacy students as we seek to increase representation from historically underrepresented groups in the pharmacy workforce.
The new program is part of ASHP’s longstanding commitment to increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion and supports the recommendations and goals outlined in the ASHP Task Force on Racial Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The inaugural program will award a total of $25,000 in scholarships to pharmacy students enrolled at U.S.-accredited Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) beginning in fall 2023. The launch of the new program was announced at this year’s Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition in Las Vegas.
To be considered, applicants must be enrolled in accredited HBCU schools of pharmacy in good standing with demonstrated leadership, academic success, and a commitment to health equity. Details on how to apply through HBCU schools of pharmacy will be shared in 2023.
